PROFICIENCY LEVELS

I think that my favorite level to teach would be intermediate students because they are not going to feel lost with what i'm teaching them (as beginners would) and they will also need to be guided to a better understanding of EFL. That kind of student already has enough knowledge to be curious about learning more, and in my experience, when you realize that you know something enough to understand it, you try to upgrade your knowledge to a different level. The teacher in this case, is the one responsable to make the students go to the advanced level and this means being responsable of preparing the students well enough to face the challenges in advanced learning.
Well, i believe that i'm still an intermediate student, no matter what the university, and the course we are in say, i think this about myself because if i trust too much that i know too much, i'll stop being interested in becoming a better speaker, writter or listener of the language.
So people let's be the best intermediate learners.

  1. That`s interesting. I think the same way. It`s better to teach intermediate because they have some knowledge about the second language they are learning.

And I agree with your point of view. I consider myself an intermediate learner too. i think I have a lot of thing to learn.

  2. Hi there!!

these intermediate students are still in their way of learning however the teacher can delegate some responsabilities regarding their learning. They are capable of holding conversations and their creativity flows continously.

  3. You have mentioned something really important Luis and it is that intermediate level students love exploring the target language. When you are developing the class, they ask questions about topics that are interesting for them. They want to know more and more phrases in the target language. It helps you to improve your language because sometimes you do not have the answers they need, so you have to investigate that and you learn more.
